Alpine lifestyle with roots
The 4-star Feichtnerhof
The 4-star Feichtnerhof embodies an alpine lifestyle, developed from a clear down-to-earth approach. Back in 1985, Hubert Larcher and his wife Elfriede transformed their family home at the foot of the Erspen, the local mountain, into the Gasthof Feichtnerhof – complete with a cosy restaurant and a handful of guest rooms.

The impetus for this step came from the growing tourism development in the Kaunertal: with the construction of the Glacier Road and the opening of the Kaunertaler Gletscherbahnen ski resort in 1980, the region’s potential expanded dramatically. The next chapter unfolded in 1990, when the Feichtnerhof evolved from a modest inn into a contemporary 4-star hotel. With over 30 guest rooms and the addition of its own sauna area, this transformation marked a defining milestone.
In 2016, daughters Maria and Judith – together with Maria’s husband Dietmar – took over the management of the 4-star Feichtnerhof. Since then, the traditional, family-run hotel has embraced a fresh new look: contemporary alpine design meets clean architectural lines, high-quality regional materials and stylish 4-star comfort.

Generations coming together – that’s the essence of family.
We are
your hosts
Allow us to introduce ourselves: we are Maria, Dietmar and Judith – and we’re truly delighted that you’ve found your way to the Feichtnerhof.
Judith (Infanger-Larcher)
“I manage the Feichtnerhof and oversee the daily operations of the hotel, from front office duties to organising staff rotas and handling orders.
When time permits, I enjoy spending the winter months skiing on the Kaunertal Glacier with my husband Heiri (pictured left), who also happens to be our go-to man for the tough jobs – handling renovations and repairs throughout the hotel. In summer, I love to venture high into my beloved mountains, reaching summit cross after summit cross. That’s one of the many reasons I hold the Feichtnerhof so dear: it’s my home in the mountains.”
Maria (Larcher-Walser)
“I manage reception with genuine passion and a listening ear for the concerns of both our guests and our team. Like my sister and my husband, I’m part of the management team – and I genuinely look forward to working in our family business each and every day. Alongside my front office duties, I’m also responsible for managing our social media presence, liaising with tourism and marketing partners, planning events, recruiting new team members and handling complaints.
In my free time, I’m passionate about sports – skiing or snowshoeing through the snowy landscapes in winter, and hiking across our incomparable mountain world when summer arrives. Of course, I also love travelling to the seaside with my family to indulge my passion for water sports – but my heart truly belongs to my home, the Kaunertal.”
Dietmar (Walser)
“As an authorised signatory, I’m part of the management team at the Feichtnerhof and also serve as Managing Director of the Tiroler Oberland/Kaunertal Tourist Board. At the hotel, I usually work behind the scenes – handling accounting, pricing, contracts and technical matters like maintaining our website.
My great passion is alpine mountain sports. In summer, I spend as much time as I can in the mountains – ideally on climbing or mountaineering tours with my sons. In winter, I relish the region’s diversity – whether I’m out ski touring, skiing the groomed slopes or gliding along cross-country skiing trails. For me, exercising in the great outdoors is the ideal counterbalance to everyday office life – and an essential part of how I stay connected to the region I call home.”
Elfriede & Hubert Larcher – the senior landlords
Where would we be without them: Elfriede and Hubert, the founders of the Feichtnerhof and the heart of our family. Although they’ve stepped back from the day-to-day running of the business, they continue to support us with their experience, vision and ever-open ear.
Our mum Elfriede is the heart and soul of our garden. With great love and green fingers, she still tends to the flowers that make our hotel so beautiful.
